  • What are the benefits of shutters?
Plantation shutters offer aesthetic appeal, light and privacy control, insulation, and durability. They add value and style to homes, are energy efficient, and provide a timeless look. Embrace the timeless elegance of Plantation Shutters and elevate your home to the next level.
  • How do I care for my shutters?
Dust or vacuum shutters regularly to keep them clean. For more thorough cleaning, you can use a soft, damp cloth and a mild detergent. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the finish of the shutters.
  • What is the difference between a blind and a shade?
While a blind is made up of a system of slats or louvers that tilt open and closed to allow light in, shades are made from fabric which can be raised or lowered to your desired height. While blinds can also be raised or lowered, they are often left in the lowered position.
  • Do shades have light gaps?
All shades will have some gap when inside mounted. This is to allow the material to raise and lower without rubbing against the window frame. Cellular shades typically have the smallest gaps (making them ideal blackout options) while roller shade gaps are the widest. Keep this in mind if light blocking is your primary goal.
  • What types of shades are available?
We offer a variety of custom shade styles including roller shades, cellular shades, roman shades, pleated shades, cascade sheer shades (aka zebra shades), solar shades and woven wood / bamboo shades.
  • Are blinds safe for kids?
Yes, our Premium Wood, Faux Wood, Aluminum, and Vertical Blinds are available with cordless lift / tilt mechanisms which are safe for young children and pets.
  • What blinds are best for me?
This depends on your budget, décor preference, and functional needs. Premium Wood Blinds offer a timeless look and are easy to use. Faux Wood Blinds give you the look of real wood at a lower price point. Vertical Blinds for large are a reliable go-to for large windows and doors while Aluminum Binds are light and easy to use.
  • What are blinds vs. shades?
While a blind is made up of a system of slats or louvers that tilt open and closed to allow light in, shades are made from fabric which can be raised or lowered to your desired height. While blinds can also be raised or lowered, they are often left in the lowered position.
  • Can I motorize blinds?
Yes! You can add a motorized tilt mechanism to our Premium Wood and Faux Wood Blinds which will tilt your blinds automatically or with the touch of a button.
