Blading

Micro Blading

Microblading is a tattooing technique in which a small handheld tool made of several tiny needles is used to add semi-permanent pigment to the skin.

Microblading is the artistic technique using a manual method of eyebrow tattooing that creates beautiful, individual hair strokes. The results? Gorgeous, natural looking eyebrows, regardless of the amount of hair present. The microblading technique is not recommended for oily skin as the healed results are not optimal.

Client success stories

  • Are chemical peels right for everyone?
Chemical peels are suitable for almost everyone and we have a varied range from our Sensitive PHA Peel which is suitable for very sensitive skins right through to our mono peels which use high-strength single acids that can even be layered to target stubborn concerns. Certain skin conditions/people may be 'contra-indicated' and therefore shouldn't go down the peel route until the skin is normalised. However, there are lots of other treatment options we offer.
  • Which chemical peel is right for me?
When you book in with one of our experienced Medik8 therapists, you will be given a pre-peel consultation 2 weeks before your treatment date. This is to assess your skin type and needs, so your therapist can use their high level of expertise to find a treatment tailored to you. Beginners may wish to start with a Sensitive PHA Professional Skin Peel, suitable for extremely sensitive or redness-prone skin. From here on you can move onto more advanced peels, such as Rewind Professional Skin Peel, which helps to diminish stubborn fine lines and wrinkles, or Clarity Professional Skin Peel, ideal for rebalancing blemish-prone skin.
  • What results can I expect after my chemical peel?
24 hours post-peel your skin will likely feel a little tight and appear slightly flushed. Within 3 days your skin will start to flake but within the week you will start to see clearer, more uniform skin tone. Over a course of 6 peels, results will be even more visibly profound. We will track the progress of your skin transformation by taking a series of images throughout your treatment plan.
  • How do I prepare for a skin peel?
Prep your skin. We will provide you with products to prepare your skin in the 2 weeks prior to your peel. It has been proven that vitamin C and vitamin A can increase skin cell renewal, which reduces the healing time involved in peels. Try our CE-Tetra® (or one of our many other vitamin C products) every morning for 2 weeks prior to your peel. Add in vitamin A in the evening, in the form of Crystal Retinal 6™, or one of our vitamin A serums to see best results
  • How do I book a Medik8 Chemical Peel?

Universal AHA Suitable for everyone and any skin concern, it visibly brightens, smoothes, decongests and revitalises the skin. Ideal for a first time peel or to maintain results from other peels. Eye Reveal An ultra-gentle yet effective solution to target signs of ageing around the delicate eye area Mono Peels Medik8 also offers single-acid peels for extra-tailored care. Your Medik8 professional can choose from a range of different strengths. They will determine the layers of actives you need following a skin consultation. Anyone looking for significant results with moderate downtime and peeling or anyone who wants to prepare their skin for a deeper peel. Medik8 peels can help with Pigmentation, Blemishes, General Scarring, Dull complexions and Fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Why Have a Medik8 Chemical Peel?
Chemical peels are fast becoming the number one clinical skin treatment worldwide. At a fraction of the price of laser, they can significantly reduce the appearance of wrinkles, pigmentation and blemishes with less discomfort and downtime.
  • Should I have a facial or a chemical peel?
We recommend professional treatments alongside at-home care so you can achieve the best possible result. Many of us enjoy lovely, pampering facials but are often left disappointed by the results which fade the very same day. With Medik8, you don't have to make a choice between results and experience. You can have both. Using cosmeceutical grade, proven ingredients across our treatments means you will visibly see noticeable changes in your skin both immediately and over time. Chemical Peels - For the best results, we recommend a course of 6 chemical peels. Take a look at our Peels menu to see which concerns we treat. We basically have something for everyone from our Sensitive PHA Peel which is suitable for even the most sensitive, redness-prone skin right up to our very high-level mono peels crafted with single acids designed to target stubborn skin concerns. Or why not leave it to us and join our 12 Weeks to WOW personal training for skin programme? Your very own Medik8 trained professional will work with you to tailor 6 professional peel treatments to your exact requirements and skin goals alongside complementary at-home skincare to deliver incredible results - your 'wow' moment as we call it. Facial Peels - Are great when you have spare time, but we know it's not always easy to find precious moments in our busy schedules for them. That's why we also offer a menu of zero-downtime professional treatments too which deliver immediate, noticeable results, smell and feel amazing and deliver that bit of me-time with less commitment.
  • Pre- peel skin preparation
Prior to all peel treatments we advise UGLYS AESTHETIC CLINIC to come for a skin Health assessment in which we can discuss your needs and expectations to ensure you receive the best treatment for your concerns. All peel UGLYS AESTHETIC CLINIC will be given complimentary Vitamin C and Retinol to use 2 weeks prior to their peel to prepare their skin. Medik8 believe that this step enhances the results from our superficial peels and all UGLYS AESTHETIC CLINIC must complete this prior to treatment commencement.
  • What does a chemical peel feel like?
Peels can cause some mild discomfort and temporary redness; dependent on the strength of the peel you have chosen. Above all else – relax. The peeling process provides you with some valuable me-time, so enjoy the peace and allow yourself to switch into relaxation mode. After all of our peel protocols, we apply Ultimate Recovery™ Bio-Cellulose Mask to rapidly cool, restore and soothe the skin
  • Dos and Don’ts following a chemical peel?
Don't pick at any flaky skin. Your skin is naturally turning over after you're peel and picking may create soreness and even scarring. Don't use any harsh exfoliants (chemical (AHA/ BHA cleansers/toners) or physical (grainy scrubs)) for at least 3 days post-peel. Don't spend extended periods of time in direct sunlight. Always wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect your skin. Stick to the aftercare regime that we give to you. You can read more about preparation for a peel and aftercare here.
  • What acids are used within Medik8 peels?
AHA - Lactic - stimulates and exfoliates BHA - Salicylic acid - deep cleansing and antibacterial Polydroxy acids - Lactobionic acid - Anti-inflammatory, reduces redness and contains powerful antioxidants promoting cellular turnover.
  • Pre -Peel Consultation
A pre-peel consultation must take place approximately 2 weeks before performing the first peel procedure. At the consultation your skin will be analysed and photos taken, medical history taken, and the appropriate peel discussed with you. A patch test will also be performed by applying a small amount of peel to your inner arm. Your skin needs to be prepped for 2 weeks prior to your peel with Vitamin C and Retinol. This will be provided at your skin consultation appointment. For Fitzpatrick skin type 4 (olive to moderate brown natural skin tone e.g. Asian) to 6 (black natural skin tone e.g. Nigerian) skin prep to be a minimum of 4 weeks and will include a pigment suppressant (White Balance Brightening Serum).
  • Is there downtime after a chemical peel?
By definition, the application of acids to the skin may cause redness, skin flaking and mild peeling; but every skin is different. Our low PH, high active acid peels are delivered using a time-release molecule (Arginine) to give fantastic results with less downtime. We recommend not to wear makeup for the first 12 hours post-peel to ensure the skin remains bacteria-free. You will be recommended a comprehensive aftercare routine to continue with at home to ensure your skin recovers and rejuvenates correctly. As a general rule, expect flaking from around the 3rd day post-peel for a maximum of 5 further days. You should avoid direct sun exposure during these recovery days and always wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. We recommend UGLYS AESTHETIC CLINIC go home with our Physical Sunscreen which is a mineral, non-nano, broad-spectrum sunscreen SPF 30 which provides great protection and as mineral sunscreen is very gentle on compromised skin. To get the absolute best results from your peel we recommend using a post-treatment skincare kit. You will receive one of these free when you buy a course of 6 treatments, or at a discounted price when you buy a course of 3 or a single peel.
  • How peels work?
Our skin is made up of protein, water and other minor structural chemicals. Proteins are complex chains of amino acids which are very sensitive to the level of PH surrounding them. When the skins proteins react with an acid in a low pH, coagulation occurs. The lower the pH, the stronger the acid and therefore more coagulation occurs. The lower the pH, the more acidic the solution and therefore it will penetrate the skin deeper.
  • Can I have just one chemical peel to improve my skin?
It is possible to just have a single peel, but we recommend a course of 6 to really see the long-term skin benefits. It's a little like going to the gym; you can go occasionally but the real results will come when you commit to an ongoing programme. We make starting your peel journey really easy with our Medik8 12 Weeks to WOW programme - basically 'personal training for your skin'. Our trained therapists will work with you over a 12 week period to visibly transform your skin through a bespoke programme of in-clinic treatments and at-home care to achieve skin that really wows.
  • What Can Microdermabrasion Treat?
Microdermabrasion treats a variety of skin related problems including acne and acne scarring, dull and tired skin, pigmentation, blemishes and the effects of ageing skin including wrinkles and fine lines
  • What Are the Benefits of Microdermabrasion?
In as little as 30 minutes a Microdermabrasion Facial will firm up, revitalise and leave you with more youthful looking skin. During a course of treatments, wrinkles and fine lines will disappear, acne and acne scarring will be significantly reduced and dull and tired skin will be restored to glowing health. Effectiveness A single SkinBase™ treatment can remove up to three times the number of dead skin cells in a single session than other exfoliating treatments. Better Skin for Longer Microdermabrasion encourages cell renewal, which means your skin will benefit from improved elasticity, a smoother texture and reduced signs of ageing. Zero Recovery Time Unlike many skin rejuvenation treatments, Microdermabrasion is non-invasive, so requires zero recovery time. It is often referred to as the ‘lunchtime Facial’ because of the convenience and effectiveness. Everyone Can Benefit! Microdermabrasion is suitable for all skin types, and therapists will assess your skin before advising on the number of treatments you will need. Flexible to Suit Individual Skin Types The treatment settings are widely adjustable; meaning therapists are able to tailor the treatment to individual skin types and problems. The SkinBase™ Facial uses safe, non-allergenic crystals and is suitable for all skin types. Book a consultation with your therapist to hear all the benefits SkinBase™ Facial Microdermabrasion has for you. The vacuum action during The SkinBase™ Facial works to stimulate the production of collagen, something we lose gradually as we age. This stimulation and skin’s renewal improves the condition of the skin’s surface – helping to target ageing skin, stretch marks, pigmentation, cellulite, dry and dehydrated skin and acne scarring. For anti-ageing treatments, all skin types and tones from ages 28 and up will benefit the most from The SkinBase™ Facial. However, for problematic skin such as Acne Scarring all age groups can benefit. Under 16 year olds will need a parental co-sign however.
  • Are There Any Downsides to Microdermabrasion?
A correctly performed procedure by a fully qualified Microdermabrasion therapist will result in nothing more than the skin feeling tight, occasionally with a mild redness. These effects will normally subside within 24 hours of the treatment. Sometimes Microdermabrasion can trigger a healing crisis in problematic skin, such as an acne breakout in acne sufferers or pimples for those with congested skin. This is a sign that the treatment is taking effect. This temporary reaction will subside and great improvements will be seen over subsequent treatments. Higher intensities can cause an uneven lightening effect in darker skin tones. Your therapist should use a lower intensity treatment on these skin types. Those who are pregnant or who have rosacea should not have Microdermabrasion treatments.
  • How Does Microdermabrasion Work?
During a Microdermabrasion treatment, a fine jet of abrasive crystals gently removes dead skin cells layer by layer and a vacuum action lifts away the debris, stimulating the blood flow and encouraging collagen and elastin formation
  • What is a collagen lift?
The treatment tightens, tones and lifts achieving firm, youthful looking skin – without the telltale frozen stares and ‘puffed up’ look associated with injectables and fillers. Growing numbers of the rich and famous (including Kylie, Amanda Holden, Kim Kardashian and Mel B) are choosing non-surgical radio frequency technology over traditional more invasive treatments for a more natural yet VERY effective solution to tackle the signs of ageing and retain a youthful appearance for longer. Collagen Lift ™ harnesses radio frequency technology to deliver great long lasting results. Radio frequency technology is highly effective for skin tightening and firming loose or sagging skin. This makes Collagen Lift ideal for those who either don’t want, or don’t believe they are old enough for surgical procedures. Some injectables paralyse the muscle to improve the appearance of wrinkles and plump out the skin. Collagen Lift clients can look forward to increased muscle tone, a more defined jaw line and diminished fine lines thanks to the tightening effect from a natural realignment of the tissues. Results from a course of Collagen Lift are instant. Tightening of the elastin fibres occurs immediately, giving an instant visible result. Over the medium term, benefit from increased collagen production for up to 3 months after your course has been completed. Long term, results can last up to 2 years.
  • How many treatments will I need and how often?
We recommend a course of six sessions completed either; one a week for six weeks, or two a week for three weeks. After this we suggest a single session every 4-6 weeks to maintain the results. Top up courses of six treatments are recommended every 2 years.
  • What does collagen lift Treat?
Wave goodbye to fine lines, wrinkles, sagging skin, turkey neck and jowls. Collagen Lift can provide you with a tightening, firming and plumping effect without the need for invasive treatments. No matter how much your skin has aged already, Collagen Lift is gentle enough to be used around the eyes and on the décolleté as well. So whatever signs of ageing you’re looking to tackle, this is the treatment you’ve been waiting for. Collagen Lift is not just a facial treatment and can be used on the body too. Rejuvenating & tightening skin, lifting and sculpting and acting on cellulite.
  • What does Collagen Lift ™ treatment feel like
During the Collagen Lift ™ treatment a conductive gel is applied to the skin and then a ceramic wand is moved continuously over the skin in a circular motion. The feeling is described as soothing and relaxing like a warm wand being massaged over the skin. Very similar to a hot stones massage.
  • Benefits of collagen Lift?
Collagen Lift ™ is extremely effective for non-surgical skin tightening and firming loose or sagging skin. This makes it ideal for those who either don’t want, or don’t believe they are old enough for surgical procedures. Some Injectables paralyse the muscle to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and plump out the skin. With Collagen Lift ™, you can look forward to increased muscle tone, a more defined jaw line and diminished fine lines caused by the natural tightening effect from a realignment of the tissues. Results from a course of Collagen Lift ™ are instant. Tightening of the elastin fibres occurs immediately, giving an instant visible result. Treatment also stimulates new collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.Over the medium term, collagen production increases for up to 3 months after the course has been completed. Long term, results can last up to 2 years.
  • Who is Collagen Lift For?
The great thing is it’s suitable for all skin types and colours. Collagen Lift will tighten, strengthen, contour and tone for a more youthful looking you. Anyone with a need for skin tightening will benefit from this treatment. Skin usually begins to sag and lose collagen during our late 20’s and every year our body will produce about 1% less collagen. The treatment can be performed on any skin colour and skin type. Collagen Lift ™ uses radio frequency technology to stimulate the production of new collagen and the realignment of elastin fibres deep within the skin, tightening and strengthening the skin and tissue. With Collagen Lift ™ it is no longer necessary to go under the knife to lift, refresh and tighten the skin. Zero down time. Just amazing firm, plump and fresh skin. Is Collagen lift safe for all skin types? Yes, Collagen Lift can be used for all skin types and colours on many areas of the body and face.
  • How long will the results last for?
Over the medium term you will benefit from increased collagen production up to 3 months after the course has been completed. Long term, results can last up to 2 years making this treatment serious competition for fillers and injectables.
  • Are there any side effects to the treatment?
After the treatment, the skin may feel tight with mild redness. Therefore it is important that you use a good moisturiser and drink plenty of water. These effects normally subside within 36 hours of treatment.
  • How quickly can I expect to see results?
Results from a course of Collagen Lift ™ treatments are instant. Tightening of the elastin fibres occurs immediately, giving an instant visible result.
  • How does collagen lift works?
Collagen keeps skin plump and firm, but the body produces less each year causing skin to lose its elasticity as we age. Fine lines and wrinkles begin to form and skin begins to sag.Our latest treatment, Collagen Lift ™ helps by stimulating the body’s own natural production of collagen and elastin to reverse the effects of skin ageing – and it’s seriously effective!During treatment, a ceramic wand delivers waves of radio frequency energy to realign fibres within the skin. The deeper levels of the skin are heated, stimulating several natural responses in the body. Collagen Lift isn’t painful or invasive like a facelift or other medical procedures, in fact it feels similar to a hot stone massage. Results can be seen instantlyThe results of a Collagen Lift treatment can be seen immediately – your skin is instantly tighter. What’s more, you’ll continue to see improvements for up to three months after your treatments end. Furthermore, results last for up to two years!
  • How does it feel?
Most people liken the feeling to being flicked by an elastic band. The SkinBase™ system uses a special cooling handset applied to the skin prior to treatment and immediately after, providing a chemical-free anaesthetic effect on the skin to minimise any sensation.
  • Am I suitable for IPL?
Our trained practitioners will carry out an in-depth consultation and patch test prior to your actual treatment. They will advise you on the best results you can expect to achieve. SkinBase™ IPL is a medical grade, EU produced machine and is proven to work on almost all skin types, except very dark skin types. Our IPL system has both a large and small spot size applicator, allowing us to treat large areas more efficiently but also being able to modify the size to treat smaller areas. If you have any medical conditions or are currently pregnant or taking medication, please let us know at the time of booking the consultation so we can check your suitability.
  • WHAT IS IPL?
IPL (Intensed Pulsed Light) is an alternative to conventional hair removal techniques such as waxing, shaving or threading. IPL uses light to remove unwanted hair by disabling hair in the follicle to give a permanent reduction in hair growth.
  • What areas can I have treated?
You can have most face and body areas treated with the SkinBase™ IPL.
  • When you attend your patch test
If you are able to come with visible hair growth in the area of at least 1mm that would be preferable BUT NOT ESSENTIAL. Please do not expose the area to UV or self-tan for at least 4 weeks prior to the patch test. Avoid intense exfoliation, Microdermabrasion or peels on the treated area at least for 1 week before. Avoid swimming in strong chlorinated water immediately before and after the patch test.
  • How many treatments will I need?
Hair growth happens in 3 different phases and permanent reduction is achieved during one particular phase. This means typically a course of 8-10 sessions will be needed to start with. Each client will experience varying results, however we expect a reduction of between 70-95% in most cases. Some UGLYS AESTHETIC CLINIC may need more treatments in the course before we achieve the desired results and all UGLYS AESTHETIC CLINIC will need top up treatments at regular intervals.

The solution continues to work for 72 hours, so we recommend not showering or bathing for at least 48 hours. • HOW LONG DOES THE SHRINKING VIOLET BODY WRAP TAKE?
Shrinking Violet Body Wrap appointments normally last 60 - 75 mins, allowing time for you to get comfortable beforehand and to rebalance after laying down for an extended period.
  • HOW LONG IS THE MICROBLADING PROCESS?
The appointment usually takes two to three hours, and most of the time is spent going over drawing the shape of your eyebrows and picking the right colour in order to ensure that your eyebrow blading turns out perfect.
  • WILL YOU DRAW THE SHAPE ON FIRST?
Yes, we won’t start the microblading process until you agree with the colour selected and the shape.
  • HOW WILL MY EYEBROWS LOOK RIGHT AFTER THE MICROBLADING PROCEDURE? DO I NEED TO GO HOME AND HIDE FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS?
They will look great! They may be a little darker for a couple of days, but you shouldn't experience any bruising and will only have very minimal swelling. You can go out to dinner the same day — just don't drink alcohol because it makes you sweat, bleed (unlikely), bruise, and worse of all, it leads you to make questionable decisions like touching your eyebrows with dirty hands!
  • WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
Microblading is the artistic technique using a manual method of eyebrow tattooing that creates beautiful, individual hair strokes. The results? Gorgeous, natural looking eyebrows, regardless of the amount of hair present. The microblading technique is not recommended for oily skin as the healed results are not optimal.
  • CAN YOU MICROBLADE YOUR OWN EYEBROWS?
Absolutely not. Performing such an invasive procedure on your own face can scar you for life — pun intended. In order to achieve ideal results with microblading eyebrows, proper stretching of the skin is extremely important, which works together with adequate pressure. Without proper stretching, you will harm your skin and most likely cut too deep and cause undesired scarring.
  • HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY MICROBLADING APPOINTMENT?
Do not work out 48 hours before the procedure. *Discontinue any use on the face of retinol, glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and alpha hydroxyls, as well as any chemical anti-aging exfoliants, eyebrow growth serums, or any "brightening" skin care products at least two to three weeks prior to your microblading procedure. These products thin the skin and do not produce good healed results. Botox and dermal fillers should be avoided at least two to three weeks prior to the procedure. Avoid sun and tanning beds at least two weeks prior to your appointment because when your skin exfoliates a sunburn, it will take the pigment with it. Do not take any Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Niacin, or Advil within 48 hours of your appointment. Avoid blood thinning supplements, like garlic, turmeric, vitamin E and fish oils. Do not consume alcohol within 24-48 hours before procedure, and do not consume caffeine the morning of your appointment. No brow waxing, tinting, or threading at least one week prior to your appointment. Come with your brows pencilled in so we can see how you like and are used to having them. *Any skincare products for youth, repair, anti-aging, wrinkles, acne, tone correcting, brightening, etc. are likely to have these ingredients, do not use them anywhere on the face 3-4 weeks prior to procedure.
  • CAN I WEAR MAKEUP AFTER MICROBLADING?
Do not wear makeup on the brows for at least two weeks after your procedure, but everywhere else is fine.
  • HOW LONG DOES MICROBLADING LAST?
Microbladed eyebrows typically last one to two years for most people before they need a touch up. Cosmetic tattoo treatments are considered permanent and will not wash off — however, they will fade over time and may need to be refreshed every 12 months to 18 months. Those who do not follow aftercare instructions properly may require more frequent microblading touch-ups.
  • AFTER YOUR BROWS HAVE HEALED
Microblading can last anywhere from one to two, years depending on the client's lifestyle, skin type, and aftercare. Exposure to the sun and tanning beds can cause fading and discolouration of the eyebrow blading pigment. When you are outdoors, always apply sunscreen to the brows once completely healed. 76 / 76 Maintain removal of unwanted brow hair outside of your microbladed shape by tweezing, waxing, threading, or razoring. Do not laser around the brow area, as some lasers can change the colour of the pigment. Additional brow makeup application may still be required post-microblading to achieve your desired look. PLEASE NOTE: The results are natural, fuller looking eyebrows. Initially, the brows may appear darker but fade significantly over the first two weeks. Although our cosmetic tattoo artists use premium products and provide exceptional service, all clients heal differently, and many factors lead to varied results. It is crucial to have a microblading touch-up done, as it is very difficult to predict how well your skin will retain the pigment. Due to this and other varying factors, we cannot guarantee your results. For further sun protection, wear hats and sunglasses. Yearly eyebrow tattoo touch-ups are recommended to maintain your results.
  • DOES MICROBLADING HURT AFTERWARD?
The eyebrow tattoo area can be a little sore for the first few hours, and it is not uncommon for it to be tender for a few days.
  • WHAT SHOULD I AVOID AFTER THE MICROBLADING TREATMENT?
DO NOT use any retinols, glycolic acids, lactic acid, AHAs, or salicylic acid* DO NOT use peroxide or Neospirin on ANY areas. DO NOT scrub or pick the treated areas. AVOID working out and/or sweating for the first 14 days. DO NOT expose area to sun or tanning beds for three to four weeks after procedure. DO NOT dye or tweeze eyebrows for at least 10 days after procedure. DO NOT use makeup on the eyebrows for at least 14 days. AVOID sleeping on your face/brows for 10-14 days. AVOID steam rooms, pools, saunas, hot showers/baths, hot tubs, etc. for at least 10-14 days. 74 / 76 *Any skincare products for youth, repair, anti-aging, wrinkles, acne, tone correcting, brightening, etc. are likely to have these ingredients, do not use them anywhere on the face 3-4 weeks prior to procedure.
  • CAN YOU MICROBLADE OVER AN EXISTING TATTOO?
Yes. However, the old tattoo must be significantly faded for the hair strokes to show through and look natural. If you do have an existing tattoo, we recommend that you submit a picture to our permanent makeup artists so we can determine whether you are a good candidate for the microblading procedure.
  • DOES MICROBLADING HURT?
At UGLYS AESTHETIC CLINIC Studio in Saco, our licensed makeup tattoo artists use two different types of numbing to help alleviate any discomfort. Having this service performed during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during the microblading process.
  • I HAD MY EYEBROWS MICROBLADED SOMEWHERE ELSE, CAN YOU DO A TOUCH UP?"
If you have been microbladed elsewhere and need a touch-up, the full microblading price will be charged.
  • CAN I SCHEDULE A MICROBLADING CONSULTATION?
The microblading consultation and procedure are both done in the same day, unless you have existing permanent makeup. In this case, please contact us beforehand to discuss your options.
  • HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR EYEBROW TATTOOS TO HEAL
Your eyebrows will take approximately 10 days to heal. During that week, we encourage you to let them naturally exfoliate off. This means keeping them out of water, sweat, steam, etc. Once the scabbing phase passes, your eyebrows will appear lighter, and their true colour should come out after four weeks. As long as you’re good at following the aftercare instructions, there shouldn’t be a problem going to work or being out in public.
  • MICROBLADING IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ANY CLIENTS WHO ARE OR HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
Anyone under 18 years of age Using any skin care products that contain any retinol, glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, or alpha hydroxyls (stop use three weeks prior) Chemical peels or PRP facial (at least 60 days prior) Facial laser treatment (at least 60 days prior) Pregnant or nursing (we recommend waiting two months after nursing due to hormonal changes for optimal healed results) History of keloids or hypertrophic scarring History of Epilepsy, MRSA, or lupus Chemotherapy (at least a year out and requires doctor's clearance) Diabetic (requires doctor's clearance) Viral infections or diseases Pacemaker or major heart problems 75 / 76 Organ transplant Had botox in the last two weeks Skin irritations or psoriasis near the treated area (rashes, sunburn, acne, etc.) Problematic Skin (Acne or bumps covering the Forehead or Brow Area) Using Accutane (must be off for one year) Uncontrolled high blood pressure Poor general health Allergy to epinephrine, dermacaine, benzyl alcohol, lidocaine, or tetracaine Currently taking antibiotics (must be off for at least 30 days prior to appointment)
  • IS MICROBLADING PERMANENT?
Because the colour is implanted into the upper dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off, microblading brows is considered permanent. However, the pigment is implanted more superficially than a traditional tattoo, making it fade over time and requiring future touch ups.
  • IS THE SECOND APPOINTMENT NECESSARY?
For microblading, at least two appointments are needed initially, at least four to six weeks apart. Microblading touch-ups are done no earlier than four weeks after your initial procedure and no later than eight. If you do not schedule your eyebrow tattoo touch-up within eight weeks, you will be required to pay the touch-up fee outlined in the touch-up schedule. It is absolutely imperative to complete the touch-up treatment. Without it, the results will not be optimal. At the permanent makeup touch-up, we assess the colour retention and make adjustments as necessary. Everyone heals differently and at different rates. If your cosmetic tattoo does not heal perfectly the first time, do not worry! We can always go bolder and add more density as well as correct any irregularities in the microbladed hair strokes during the touch-up.
